Adding @Duke is so huge. Props to Coach Tiffany. Biggest & best development of the offseason IMO.

Ferguson will be a beast.

Biggest question mark for 2010 obviously is at goal but everyone knew that already.

Maybe the biggest on-the-field story in the Ivies next yr will be which of the following teams develops a good reliable goalie quickly to replace a departing senior...BU, HU and/or CU (PU of course is set w/ Fiorito). There are lots of players w/ the quality&experience combo on the rosters of those 4 teams at pretty much every position...except goalie.

It will be interesting to see how Ferguson's game translates to D-1. He's fast, athletic and skilled, a great GBaller, and stood out in HS. But how does 5-9 and not a lot of bulk fit as LSM versus bigger and fast D-1 athletes? I always thought he would be a natural ssdm in college.

Hopefully Ferguson's game will translate like the last 5-9, fast, skilled, standout, skinny dman to come through Brown--Matt Grosso.

Do not forget the finest 5'9", 165 lb defenseman of all time, Dennis Sullivan.

Matt Chriss, Noah Beaty or the new guy. Chriss, a jr., has the most experience, and there's a lot for a guy to learn in the Tiffany defense.

Sounds like Joe Kelly from Penn. 5'7'' D man from Loyola Blakefield who originally played LSM but is now a good Dman for Penn.

Lots of talk about D here, understandably so as Brown takes great pride in its stingy D and Lars is a great D coach and Brown will be solid on D.

but I am wondering who Lars is going to hire in the wake of Evans departure after his 1 year stint? good O talent coming back but who is going to coach them up to face the other tough defenses in the Ivy league?

If Jack Walsh hasn't found a job in the real world yet, I'd consider him right away. Great leader, will sacrifice for the program, knows every position on offense, and has earned the respect of his teammates with all-out hustle.

Got to see Earl at the Battlefields camp. I love the guy. Brown is fortunate to have him. Mr. Tiffany has good judgment in hiring him.

Bruno wins again--Brown has the happiest students...Clemson second, Stanford is in there, Bowdoin, Yale is sixth...

My son went to Lars Tiffany's camp this summer and a group of Brown players put on a demonstration for the kids. Holy cow did they look good. Jordan Burke was in net a lot but the backup, who will be a junior next year I think it is, was right there with him. I was super impressed with Fallon too. What a monster out there.

Lars Tiffany is a class act he's the kinda coach that makes players want to work even harder for him. If they can somewhat replace Burke which I believe they will you will see Brown back in the mix at playoffs next year too!

I'm told LI middies Pete Vivonetto (Rocky Point) and Dan Mellynchuk (Sayville) will join the Bears in 2010. I have been a fan of both guys for a while, and happy to see them headed to Providence.

Some of the upperclassmen have already called dibs. They think she'll find them "refreshingly different" from English lads.

Sorry to add on to the defensive side of things but don't forget about defenseman Sam Ford from McDonogh. He is big and rangy and was arguably one of the top D men in the MIAA last year.
