The Mount 2010
Coach Gravante brought in quite a few freshmen...what's the outlook for next year? How many scholarships does the Mount have? I thought Bryant had a full compliment of scholarships--same with Sacred Heart. Wonder how the new Northeast 10 conference will plan out?

Coach G has the West Genesse & Hobart legacies. The Mount will be fine. Bryant may be ascending to another level though. Not sure about the scholarship question.

Re: The Mount 2010
Just met Coach Gravante at his lacrosse camp (BTW: Great Camp!) which my son had just attended.
Super guy, with an amazing story. (if you don't know it, see, http://www.laxmagazine.com/sports/m-lac ... 06aac.html)
He's looking forward to opening against UVA again, and transitioning to the Northeast Conference.
I hope there's still room on the respective schedules for a game with Hop. The Mount helped Hop make the tournament in '06 and has played home and home ever since. Last year's night game at the Mount was a real treat for both teams.
BTW: The Mount's TC DiBartolo is fantastic goalie and a great kid.

Is The Mount in the MAAC this year or NEC? Also, didn't see any info on the early signing period for them. They usually snag a few in November.

Ach du Lieber! My senior moment! Sitting here at essentially 2AM- after having have had company over for dinner and bridge - and having imbibed a tad too much Pino Grigio to complement the stuffed pork chops. Watching Godzilla 2000 (I think) on the tube as I play Age of Empires III (Asian Dynasties extension). AND - also trying to read LaxPower.
SO! When I see this thread entitled The Mount 2010?? I, myself, immediately flashback and think that the Mount Washington Club has been re-incarnated. My mistake. No slight intended to the modern day team in the MAAC, but geez- what great memories suddenly were called to surface.
My best to all here and good morning!

The Mount is in the MAAC this year and will compete in the NEC starting in 2011, its inaugural year as a Men's Lacrosse Conference. Other men's programs in the Northeast Conference will be Quinnipiac (GWLL), Robert Morris (CAA), Sacred Heart (CAA), Wagner (MAAC), and Bryant which transitioned to D1 last spring. NEC Women's Lacrosse has been in existence for years and includes the schools listed above plus Central CT, LIU, and St. Francis.

Any update on the Mount player who was injured during the 2nd half of the Drexel scrimmage at the Colleluri festival? I certainly hope that his injuries (head/neck?) were not serious.

Condolences to the Schmidt family & the Mount community on the passing of Jeanne Schmidt. She was the mother of 3 Mount players. It is with heavy hearts that we embark on Thanksgiving break.
