Re: Wagner 2010
They have two recruits from Connecticut. The attack-man from New Canaan is a two sport athlete (basketball and Lax)good , solid attack-man with nice left shot. The defense-man from Glastonbury, also a two sport athlete (football and Lax) strong, aggressive, and athletic. Both should make solid contributions to team.

This coming season looks bright for the seahawks. Much improved team since Coach Rife took over, showed great improvement last year with much help from rife's first recruiting class. Snapping the loosing streak was huge, and even had some other close games with quality in conference opponents like canisius and manhattan. After Rife's original recruiting class showed rife's ability to recruit players that can step on the field right away and make an impact, his next class is coming in with great anticipation to see if Rife can keep this ship steering in the right direction and in a year or two the seahawks will be quite a competitive experienced team.
Returning Key players:
Attack - Jr - Will Macumber - Strong attackmen with good size and great finishing ability
Attack - So - Mike Hurley - Smooth Attackmen with good vision and great finishing ability - led team in scoring as a freshmen
Midfield - So - Marcus Janda - Good speed, great dodging ability, will most likely be the teams go to mid this year
Midfield- Sr - Chris Ridente - Returning Captain, Teams best athlete, more of a defensive mid but plays a huge role in the transition game
Midfield - Sr - Pete Blackmer - Great Size, hard shot
Midfield - So - Marc Payson - Small shifty midfielder with great dodging ability
Defense - Sr - Jim Okun - Returning Captain, undersized but great position defender and has locked up top attackmen for years
Defense - So - Chris Riccio - Teams top defender, great takeaway ability and does not hesitate to start the break offensively
Goalie - So - Pete Rubin - Great ball stopping ability, made some of the teams best plays last year

I wonder if hiring Recchione will help with recruiting. It's really a hard sell to a kid that wants to win or even be on a competitive team.

Wagner Lacrosse
Are there any big name recruits heading there. I know Coach Rife is building a great program over there.

Well that is why recruiting is so important. If they are dedicated the players will come/

Had the opportunity to watch Wagner's Alumni Game. It definitely had a Summer Lacrosse feel. Several of the Alumni definitely came to play. With out a roster it was tough to tell who was who, but Rife seems to have the player working hard and with some great intensity.

Wagner travels to Long Island this weekend to play a few scrimmages. C.W. Post, Molloy, and one other team. Looks like a nice workout for the Seahawks.

Even in years past
They always played hard, just didn't have a full complement of horses. In time they will draw, what's not to like about getting an education and playing in such proximity to NYC!

Re: Wagner 2010
I agree with Malone, Wagner offers a lot of positives. Solid education at a school with approx. 2500 students, proximity to NYC, a positive and dedicated coaching staff.(Which i saw first hand at there Alumni game.) If you look at the roster a good number of seniors will be graduating and there is only 2-3 juniors. As an in-coming recruit playing time will be available. You just need to put in some hard work!

Amazingly enough, Wagner has been rated one of the nicest campuses in the country in the last few years. Who would have thought that this was in Staten Island???

Most teams announce the freshman class. How does Wagner's look? (it seemed like quite a few played during fall season)
