Air Force 2010
Air Force 2010
The Air Force had their first inter squad scrimmage Thursday. The team looked sharp, and the newcomers showed very well.
The team is very athletic, and they run very well. The coaching staff should be excited, it looks like they may have some
scorers to go with the athletic mids and D men.

Re: Air Force 2010
Interestingly while on the west coast this past weekend (watching a certain turtle team get mauled by a bunch of bears), I had a convo with a guy about AF Lax. He was really pumped about the 2010 squad as well (and not a parent either!).
Nice to hear AF is moving in a positive direction. I won't be changing my blue & gold or removing my anchor jewelry any time soon, but it's still nice to hear.

Good to hear positive news about AF. Towson won an early season game against the Falcons by only 2 goals last year. The AF team is young this year, but with the new coaching in place they will only get better.

AF finished in second place last spring in the GWLL conference.
How do you think AF will do in the new ECAC conference vs. (Denver, Hobart, Fairfield, Ohio State, Bellarmine, Loyola, Quinnipiac) ?

I think the Falcons will be very much improved. D is solid, Mids run well and the attack appears like they may score some points.
They will be young, but they will be fit, have altitude on their side, and lord knows they should be smart. I think Saturday
10/17 at Lax for Leukemia against Towson and UMBC will tell a lot about the group.

Re: Air Force 2010
Hearing good things about this years Falcons. Very young, but very athletic.
Coach Seremet having full responsibility for the team will be a big plus.
Coach Koehler concentrating on the Goalie play, and Coach Wilson (former
head coach at Dartmouth) on the defensive end will be helpful as well.
AF now has every aspect of the game covered and lots of youth to mold
into a team.
Saturday should be exciting at Lax for Leukemia. They get to measure
themselves against Towson (who beat them last year), and a quality
program like UMBC. Should be a good measuring stick to see where they
stand.

Re: Air Force 2010
Great scrimmage for both teams. Air Force jumped out to 7-1 halftime lead but CC came back strong in the second half. Final score appeared to be 10-10? New coaching staff at CC made some great adjustments at halftime and CC's offense picked up steam led by sophomores Taylor and Christman. Middies and Defense looked really good on clears and face offs. CC appears to be ready to have a great season at the D III level. They might surprise a few Ohio teams this season and should definitely win the new SCAC conference.

Air Force middies #22 and #50 looked good. they created scoring chances most of the afternoon. CC played a good game as well. Looking forward to the college lacrosse season here in Colorado!

Re: Air Force 2010
FWIW, if you read the article, AFA public affairs office is admitting that a number of players were suspended. The newspaper just compared the rosters from before and after the suspensions.
Other than what I read, I know nothing - but that is a major blow to the team.
To put it in perspective, Navy loses Tim Paul and, thus, cannot stay on the field with UNC. Could you imagine losing 8 players?

What a blow to an up and coming team. After graduating 12 seniors last year AF is left with a skelton crew. Could be a long season for the Falcons. Good luck to the remaining players. Play hard. Respect yourselves. You all have bright futures ahead of you.
