Schedule is out. Looks like the boys are heading down to Florida. Not a bad way to spend spring break.

I'm sure we all remember the Duke lacrosse hoax, the false accusations against the students at Hofstra, etc., etc. etc. The article and the charges mean nothing until there is a conviction. I only hope the young men involved are allowed to go about lives until (and unless) they are convicted of something.

Agree with Longboard and Laxweforget. This is definitely not something the lacrosse world needs but until we have more than a tiny AP article no assumptions can be made on either side.

Not at all what the Lacrosse World needs ! This is America and everyone is innocent until proven guilty ! Everyone needs to indeed be very careful and not jump to any conclusions with this very serious matter at SHU. I would like to hope that all the parties involved will carefully learn from situation in Durham and act accordingly.

A very troubling time indeed for the leadership of this fine University . I trust everyone will do the right thing and let the "system" learn from Durham.

From our extended family to your family , have a very joyous and family focused Thanksgiving !

Apparently the AP has pulled this story and most links are no longer working

Other news sources in CT and New England are promoting this as their lead story for the 5 and 6 o'clock news. I do think this should be a topic for all our college age daughters and sons. However this turns out, it is very sad. I agree no one should jump to any conclusions. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.

The AP did not pull it but rather it looks like the Herald simply changed the link detail. The story is all over the Connecticut papers including the Connecticut Post and New Haven Register as well as local TV news broadcasts.

That all said, there is not much detail at this point and this is typical of the way these stories begin. Only time will tell once more facts come to light. Please can any speculation at this time.

Looks like the AP changed a minor detail, hence they pulled it for a few minutes...

(This version CORRECTS that Triner is from Marshfield, Mass., not Mansfield, Mass., per new information from Triner's attorney.)

I think we all learned a lot from the last incident. Let's hope that whatever the truth may be, the legal system identifies it and handles all parties accordingly.

Has Nancy Grace already convicted these guys in the court of public opinion, too? Still waiting for her apology in the Duke case

you can throw Selena Roberts of SI and SI.COM, to the list of people that owe apologies to the not only the sport but especially those boys on the duke team.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! Have we as a sport not learned from the Duke matter of a couple of years ago?

Really sorry to read and hear about this. Not a good thing for our sport's image.
