That may overestimate the number of Trump voters, so disgusted with the status quo, that they would have stayed home, rather than vote for HRC or any of the GOP's usual suspects.

Did you mean "overestimate" or actually 'underestimate'?

Trump did indeed pull some "never vote" voters out of their perpetual non-paticipation. They likely would not have turned out at all, as the traditional R's would not have excited them.

But many of the 'sometimes vote' voters on the right were more motivated by really disliking HRC, as well as Obamacare, etc. and would have turned out for an R 'piece of wood'.

And there were lots of I's who pulled the lever for HRC very grudgingly. Only because of how awful Trump was, from their perspective.

It was an R election to lose. R's had won the midterms twice, governorships across the country, and the country was ready for an R President. It was time.

But Trump has shocked the electorate, not just in how he campaigned, but how he has thrown gasoline on pretty much any divisive issue on fire. Add to that the pervasive corruption that is so brazen and out in the open as to shock the conscience.

HRC was a bad candidate/option - no doubt about that ( corruption/integrity issues ). But Trump first laid waste to 15 or 16 Republicans in the primaries. Why ? How much of it is because voters care less and less about party affiliation (throw 'em all out mentality) ?

Yep, That $500 M from China to Trump Project Looks Like a Pretty Big Deal [TPM]

"You probably saw the news yesterday that just days before President Trump tweeted that he was intent on saving that sanctions-busting Chinese telecommunications company, China had agreed to loan $500 million to a major Trump-backed development in Indonesia. These kinds of situations are now basically commonplace in the Trump Era. But it is important to look at them from a macro- and a micro-perspective. The details are quite complex in the latter case. We are still digging into them. But I wanted to give you a first sense of what we’re finding, because they make Trump’s connection to the operation and potential profits look considerably tighter than what I’d been led to expect yesterday from early reports.

First some basic details. The mega project is something called the Lido City development about an hour outside of Jakarta. It’s like a mini-luxury city set on 3,000 hectares, which is just over 7,400 acres. Trump has a hotel there and a golf course and various other facilities. There’s also an amusement park planned on the grounds. That’s going to be built by a subsidiary of a Chinese state-owned company called Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC). They appear to be essentially bringing with them $500 million in Chinese-government backed loans for the development of the amusement park. Makes sense: they’re both parts of the Chinese government. That’s the commitment that came just before Trump’s tweet and which has gotten all the attention."

Conservatives may now commence their caterwauling about the Trumpnistas endemic "PAY TO PLAY" tactics!

The neat thing about TPM and proof that TAATS......is that TPM (talking points memo) and Josh Walker's pay day comes from the usual pretends. (corporate sponsors )

BP/Chevron/Anga-gas (thought fossil fuels were bad, but will still take their ad. dollar$
Walmart (gates/buffett),
Norvatis (trump connection/gates/buffett)
goldman sach$
TransCanada-naughty Keystone pipeline owners....you know who
United Healthcare-gee.....who owns THAT stock
ADM- fattys favorite friend of the pretends.
Phrma- part of the oligarchy non-profit, PROFIT circle of life.
And US Congress's favorite stock to own, GE

Of course, the advocacy and media partnerships have ZERO ties to the oligarchy.

Judge says Mueller would have been remiss to ignore such obvious potential links between Trump camp and Russian government.

USDC-DC judge said: the Manafort indictment falls “squarely within” Mueller’s authority; the investigation was “logical and appropriate; special counsel regulations do not “create any substantive rights for the benefit of individuals under investigation”; Mueller would have been “remiss” to ignore this “obvious potential link” between Manafort’s alleged Ukraine dealings and Russia’s election interference.

Despite all the hyper-ventilating by Giuliani and Faux News, seems very likely that the judge in EDVA to come out about the same. The witch hunt will roll on.

Classic McCarthy -- outcome determinative from the start, full of potential conspiracies and asking the audience to fill in the facts with their -- which is to say, his -- prearranged agenda. A distraction? Exactly, and McCarthy filling his column requirements for the NR.
