Salisbury 2017

The future looks bright.

-Return entire starting defense with Leeds, Tucker & Nowesnick
-Return Reymann in the goal
-Return attack duo of Kalama and Blondino and can plug in Berquist, Garbarino or Dashiell(if healthy) all who had success
-Ternahan is back with his dominant long stick midfield skills

The only question marks are who steps up to join Bromwell and Reynolds as offensive midfield and who will fill the short stick defensive midfielder voids left by losing Dabbs and Anderson.

Berkman is in a good spot!

Plus several nice options at the face-off dot. Should be a good year in 2017, but finding that third player to round out the first midfield line and two defensive midfielders will be the key over the next eight months.

Truly breaking news. Salisbury poised to have another great year under Berkman. Dog bites man?

Keep your fingers crossed...I think Ottenritter may still be in school and can apply for another year of eligibility due to an injury season, maybe at Providence? That would be a huge bonus at midfield.

Would it be a bright 2017 if Berkman moves to Charlottesville?

I doubt UVA even picks up the phone, but if they did, I assume Coach Berkman would just go to the AD at Salisbury and use that as a bargaining chip to get a raise for either himself or get more resources for his team and or staff.

Life couldn't be any better right now in his position. Brand new stadium and locker room to show off to future recruits. Was given a full-time assistant (Justin Axel) for the first time in his career a few years ago and is coming off of a national championship. The team in 2017 has the look of a team on paper that can defend their national championship and with the pieces listed above could have some elite teams the years following.

Coach Berkman and the Gulls need 3 national championships to unseat Hobart as the leader in DIII men's lacrosse titles. I would imagine that is the next goal for Coach Berkman

2017 schedule up on the Salisbury website

http://www.suseagulls.com/sports/mlax/2016-17/schedule

War on the Shore is on a Saturday this season, good news for all parties involved.

Unfortunately York vs. Salisbury is a midweek tilt to end the season. Was hoping for a Saturday affair to get a better crowd on hand for what should be another great game.

New campaign gets officially under way in 2 days. I'm anxious to see this season's roster. Anyone out there have any intel on additions, returners, rising talents, or the next generation of future champions? Please share...

I thought Brady Dashiell was a Junior last year.

I know Brady Dashiell was listed as a JR last year but not sure about eligibility.. Also noticeably absent is Chase Berquist???

Had difficulty today with the video feed. From what I could see, Salisbury didn't lose a FO all game.

Curious as to why Salisbury would agree to play such a weak team? Was Berkman doing someone a favor or did they just want a tune up game. Cant wait for the Lynchburg game to get a better feel for the Gulls!

For a while they opened the season with Greensboro, pretty much a similar boat to Methodist. Opening with Hampton Sydney last year seems to be the most recent deviation from that norm in recent years. They may have trouble getting someone to agree to play this early in the year or maybe just want to open on a confidence booster and get a look at what they've got in reserves.

Gulls outshot Methodist 65-7?

:?

Nice tuneup and game situation for the Gulls. Real test is a-coming on Sat with the Hornets at their place.
