Per York's athletic department instagram, they will have lights for the 2018 season. Should help with any practice schedule conflicts. Will be interesting which teams they host for night games.

Any other off-season facility upgrades from around the league?

CNU needs a new field. All the sports facilities are the top of the line, except for the Lacrosse field. New field and stands please.

Word out of Fredericksburg... the alumni game was... ugly. Alumni won 15-6. That's... not how you want to end fall ball.

Word out of Fredericksburg was it's all part of a master plan to increase alumni donations. You know, make em feel good. Gentle "checks".

Fall ball not over. Mary Wash scrimmages Wash College next weekend.

FX can you give us any insight into how the team looks? And your expectation for the season? Strengths weaknesses? Etc.

Tough to get a read from events like this - lots of subs; no continuity. We'll see how they look Sunday. Heard they'll be trying out the 60 second shot clock.

My expectations for 2018 - global warming (or is it climate change now?) keeps making February lax tolerable in Virginia and there will be no traffic on I-95 between Fairfax and Fredericksburg!!

Fall is not over for the St. Mary's Seahawks either.
They had another great turnout for their alumni game last weekend and have a scrimmage day planned for Oct 8- vs. Susquehanna and McDaniel @ McDaniel College.

Booya Smell, A while ago there was chatter on this blog about 3/4 schools possibly leaving CAC. Have you heard anything recently?

IMO that is a really good well rounded schedule for a rebuilding SMCM, props to Coach Childs for putting that together.

Excellent SMCM schedule for any program. Only wish the Gulls not on the eve of the CAC tourney, They're going to be a very big, physical team this year.

The Captains schedule came out. Non conference schedule is getting stronger with their annual opening game against W&L,
Roanoke in Salem, Landmark Champs Elizabethtown, CCIW champs Illinois Wesleyan, Hampden-Sydney, Berry. Mikey Thompson is doing a great job getting CNU pointed in the right direction. Now CNU has a chance at getting an at large bid if they have a good season. Mikey has been getting CNU on the recruitment map the past couple of years. He is going after kids instead of recruits coming to the program.

It will be interesting to see how CNU does this year. They lose a ton to graduation - amazing goalie Hayden, huge stud middie Foster and 2 starting attack that combined for almost 100 goals. Lots of good talent coming in though.
