Doesn't really matter tbh.....aren't eligible for postseason play, and I'm pretty sure none of their players are eligible for conference recognition.

REGARDLESS ! A win is a win, I'm not sure they will be able to stand up under Conference play, small #'s, only 2 Freshman, and a new HC. They have a few hills to climb this season.

Well Brevard should be back from cloud 9 after BSC handled them easily. Pfeiffer came out with a win vs Emmanuel (D - 2).While Ferrum fell to St. Marys.

Piedmont lost to Centre by 1, William Peace lost to Montreat, they were up 13-6 at one point and ended up losing 13-14 in OT. Huntingdon beat Dallas. Ferrum really got pumped by St. Mary's...was 12-0 at one point.

Averette opens with Shenadoah this week - not expecting Averette to win a single game this season

Piedmont has Southwestern on wednesday - should be another close game for them

Greensboro - opens with HSC - probably going to be an ugly game for Gboro

Huntingdon has Centre and Hendrix this week - probably will be close games

Ferrum has SVU and Bridgewater this week -- they might catch two more losses

mu opens with a 7-6 loss to marymount - didn't fair well at the x (just 4 of 16) and lost on a man-down goal with 11 seconds left - got 11 saves and the defense caused 13 to's, so that end did it's job - the offense will be a work in progress all season, but i was pleased to see that freshman cade crews got a couple of goals...he's going to be a nice player...and his high school teammate, jack ryan had an assist in his first collegiate game - mu scored 5 in the 4th quarter, so maybe the offense is starting to gel

Narch...do you think Methodist has the talent to win the conference this season?

Nice OT win for Huntingdon over Hendrix Sunday. These two Conferences are getting better. There will be some great games between the top teams in these two Conferences in the future. Should be fun to watch.

defensively, yes...but the offense has a lot of work to do if this is going to be a championship team - there are a couple of talented offensive players that are young and/or inexperienced - layden, mejia & bradley are going to have to get the young guys up to speed quickly, but no question, the defense will keep them in games

Ferrum caught another loss yesterday...what's going on with the new regime over there? They'll be headed into the ODAC next year, definitely going to be a tough move.

tough 9-7 loss for the monarchs this weekend to piedmont - hard to win when you don't win face-offs (4 for 19) and struggle scoring the ball - the defense played well enough to win, giving up just 8 goals before allowing an easy one in a late game 10 man ride situation - offensively, layden played an outstanding game, netting 4 goals and mastriani looked like he will be a good feeder, but the rest of the offense needs to step up

Real tough loss for Methodist. Definitely gives Piedmont some hope moving forward in the conference. Ferrum and Huntingdon play on Saturday so that game should show who is the early favorite to win the conference championship.

Looks like Huntingdons stroll through the candy shop may be coming to a sudden stop, next 5 are Rhodes, Ferrum, BSC, William Peace, and Greensboro. Might be some wins in there but a least they will have to work for their dinner. :D

100% agree on the next 3 games...Peace a first year program and Gboro hasn't beaten them in 3 years..Also word is Gboro's best player is injured and may miss some games.

One of the new kids on the, USA South, block Brevard has handled Methodist. Narch will not be happy, :snooty: Plus Pfeiffer wins big over start up Averett, Ferrum drops another as they prepare for the move to the ODAC, sure that will help the team, but the school picks the Conference, so get use to looking up to the rest of the teams above you Ferrum. :violin:

the struggle (to score goals) is real for the monarchs - the offense has actually generated more shots than their opponents in each of the last 3 games, but i saw the guilford and piedmont games in person, and too many of those shots were easy saves for the opposing goalie - they are shooting .170 as a team for the season...not good - the bc keeper had 21 saves this weekend...i wonder how many of those were balls thrown right to him - hopefully the shooters will get things dialed in on wednesday...they need to :)

Looking like a strict rebuilding year for Methodist. Losing that many seniors will definitely set you back. Huntingdon beat Ferrum over the weekend, I think most people believe those are the top two in the conference right now.

laxmarmot, who do you have in the Huntingdon v BSC game on Wednesday?

Well looking at the common opponent, Brevard, BSC handled them 19 - 7, while it took OT for Huntingdon to get past Brevard. Yes it was an early season game but BSC has been improving, stepping up their OOC schedule strength slowly. Huntingdon is having a good season so far and I see in the Conf. Championship, but BSC should get past them by 3 - 5.

randolph is bad...like oglethorpe bad...mu has made some lineup changes/adjustments and leads 12-1 with 6:30 left in the 3rd - they could potentially score more today than they have all season - let's see if this gets them right going forward

edit: final was 18-3

A struggling Ferrum team takes on the new kid to the Conference, Brevard, today. Leaning towards Brevard on this one. Any thoughts on Brevard, I know the can only play the role of spoiler in the Conference, but between them and Pfeiffer they look to be contenders once the probationary period ends, 2 years I think I read. Ferrum gets to go be the red headed little brother in the ODAC NEXT season, well enduring this season and building for the next will should be a hand full.

Brevard wins by 1. They have 3 good players at attack that really carry the team. The two better ones will graduate before the team is NCAA eligible.

The games against Brevard and Pfeiffer don’t count against the conference standings, but good to see them beat Ferrum who seems to be down and out right now.
