Is NOVA good enough to hang with Essex? The last time Essex lost a Region XX game was in 2008.

Last year Essex beat NOVA 19-4, has NOVA made up the 15 goal differential?

NOVA plays Essex a week after Essex plays OCC and I am sure Coach Burke will have his team ready to go for the OCC.

Baby steps...

Essex has been an NJCAA powerhouse and staple for many years! In the very long term, with the demographics, coaching and school support, I believe that NOVA will compete with anyone. For this year, a lot still remains to be seen. The roster hasn't even been announced.

It takes patience and dedication to build a program from the ground up, into a region and eventual national contender. These are two ingredients that NOVA already has in place. Give it time...

So it sounds like Essex is out of reach for NOVA this year, what Region XX games should NOVA be able to win this year?

NVCC may a be a top contender in a few years as they build up the program. Essex has had the top name in the region XX for years which makes it very easy to recruit. Once NVCC develops a strong ground and good support they will have no problem keeping the Northern VA kids in state. After watching a few fall scrimmages it looks like other teams in the region XX look to be rebuilding and bulking up in talent such as Harford, Cville. Howard looks to have a lengthy roster as to there 50+ they had in the fall. I think once the "smaller" region XX builds up we will start to see a more competitive region XX.

I think all the teams are better but Essex still has to be the favorite. 10-15 yrs ago it was a battle evry yr for the region. It may be going back to that.

I know this past weekend Essex scrimmaged McDaniel and beat them....not sure on the score. I have heard that Howard lost to D3 Shenandoah by 1.

Are there any upcoming this weekend? Any word on Harford, Nova, Cville?

What the heck happened there today? Nassau 20- aacc 3. Thought aacc would have held up better than that.

Definitely a shocker. Appears Nassau will be back in the hunt this year too...

Apparently the game of the day was at Essex. Heard Essex led most of the way. Occ showed why they are the champs 15-14

Harford held up well and never gave up. They gave Nassau fits today.
But Nassau gets a 12-11 win.

Went to the game. Nassau was ahead 11 to 6 going into the 4th and then let up. Harford was more of an attack driven team #10 and 28 were the best offensive threats for harford #4 also had a few goals for them. They defiantly have potential for competing with the top teams the players on nassau that stood out were the faceoff man and the goalie.they had the ball. Most the game because he won so many. Nassau has a few good defenseman but they made stupid mistakes. There goalie played lights outb though with making a point blank save with 30 sec left to hold harford from tieing the game. All in all it was an exciting game to watch

Harford looks to be a good team this year after seeing the score from this past weekend. Has anybody seen or heard anything about Union County in NJ?
