I saw the score, 9-7 White team. But didn't get a chance to watch the game. Anyone have thoughts or observations? Thanks.

I assume Scott Ratliff didn't try out?

Most of the picks are fine but several roster spots were awarded based on somethings besides merit: Myles Jones is a match up nightmare for the Canadians and Ratcliffe is the best overall LSM in lacrosse over the past two years. What happens if one of your only two close Dmen go down due to injury in a game. Lots of primarily LSMs can't close the gate or aren't great at the two man game behind. I expect the Canadians to grind it out on offense and try and wear these guys down. If the US doesn't win a majority of FOs and/or go up early, the Canadians could very possibly out game plan us with this personnel mix. This isn't collegiate or pro lacrosse, its the international game.

Not a fan of how Danowski made the team...but we';re talkign minor things. I agree that Id have kept another close defender. And may have swapped one or two other guys. Matchups will be interesting.

Is Crotty the only lefty offensive player?

Yes, shocked they didn't keep Kavanaugh. Always want balance on attack. Let's hope their FOGOs bail them out.

I expected a big battle between Manny and Kavanagh as lefty attack with either or both making it. Surprised that neither did Very surprised that Matt Abbot is not on the squad, I thought that he was a lock. I’m not surprised by 2 FO guys, keep em both fresh. If they win it will lighten the load on all other middies and D, overriding the impact that one more mid would make. Much easier playing O than D over the course of a tournament.

Myles Jones had a terrible tryout. Im not surprised that he was left out. Stunned that Manny or Kavanaugh didn't make it. Manny put up 7 goals in the Towson game. Even Costabile being left off was odd.

No doubt Myles was off of his game. But he's the LeBron James match up wise. With intensive team and stickwork training, he could be an unstoppable match up problem. Just my opinion.

Im a little late to this convo but, I saw two tryout games, and Jones seemed disinterested in both. Kavanagh was the biggest surprise. He looked liked the most dominant offensive player there lefty or righty. If this team is designed to beat Canada I dont get some the picks. The lsm picks are great for the transition MLL style but arent great shutdown cover guys. without a shot clock transition isnt a priority. If defensemen have to slide to other poles the Canadians passers will pick that apart.
