Major League Lacrosse to Add Two Teams in 2012

Got a press release stating they're expanding to Columbus & Charlotte for 2012. The season will expand to 14 games now as well instead of 12. Happy to hear, slow but steady is not a bad thing.

BOSTON, MA - January 21, 2011 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today that two new teams will be added to the league in the 2012 season. The two new teams will be located in Charlotte, North Carolina and Columbus, Ohio.

In addition, MLL Commissioner David Gross announced that beginning in 2012, each of the league's teams will be playing a 14-game schedule, an increase from the current 12-game schedule.

Glad to see a team coming to Charlotte. Will be looking forward to the details; where the games will be played, ticket/season ticket prices, etc.

Hope this round of expansion goes better than the last one, are there even any teams left out west?

Toronto/Hamilton will be moving out of Southern Ontario or folding for 2012, so the MLL will likely be down to 11 teams. They were drawing in the low hundreds in downtown Toronto (mostly comp tickets) and it will be worse in Hamilton.
