Oh really, in 2006 when he was a freshman, he scored 108 points, led ALL Divisions of NCAA lax and changed the way the NE-10 played defense, was an all american, everybody's rookie of the year, drove coaches to drink, WHO am I talking about ? If that's not IMPACT, what is ?
No frosh in all of NE-10 history had the impact he had !!!

oh laxmom... you must certianly be referring to your glorious Rogo.
if you took the time to read the entire thread, and my previous post you would have seen me write this..
"Rogo was your only chance to use that line, and i would have agreed with you, that kid was special."
he was an exceptional player, but in the end all he has from that 06 season are big numbers (against weak competition)
No championship...conference or national.. so no he didn't give as many headaches THAT YEAR as you'd like to think, not when the only ranked team they beat was #9

yes Neers, excellent point and I agree. Most great freshman make the field and contribute the first year, which is fantastic. However, they dont take over, especially, for the season, anyone can have a breakout game. Rogowski was an exception within his NE10 division, against the ECC he did not have the same productivity , I remember him and he was great, but against top ECC defenders he was somewhat neutralized often. Back to Post, they have some capable freshman and the D-1 and JUCO transfers await to be revealed, they usually contribute immediately kind of like free agency. I have seen a very confident and strong CW Post fall ball season, they will be tough in 2010.

and what was the final score ;) 17-10 Post?
I don't think any coach is going to worry much about a 7+ Win also doing that on spring break in Disney.

Regarding Post, I have heard they brought in several transfers and am excited to see how they will do. Didn't see any of their fallball but from the sound of it, its a matter of building chemistry on offense and finding what works. Will be looking forward to seeing how quickly Jez can rebuild his offense.

Let me refresh your memory Mom, 2006 Post 17- Mack 10, 2007 Post 9-Mack 4. Yes FOUR! That is shut down D Maam. Like I said great in NE10, not so much in the ECC. No one is worried about Mack in 2010, but they should be very concerned when playing the DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.

As a frosh in 2006, Rogo had 5 against POST, 5 against Molloy and four goals in the first half against Dowling, and sixteen in 2 games against Bryant, not bad for a skinny freshman. My whole point here is that if u say u can't remember a freshman who had an impact recently, I offer a counter example. He had an IMPACT. The writers who wrote about him in the first three weeks of his career wrote and I quote "Talk about an immediate IMPACT!" That was the point of my post. I doubt if any of you naysayers even saw him play as a frosh. We at Merrimack do think he was special and we knew the first time we saw him play...he was exciting to watch and he made things happen, that's what IMPACT means!

If thats you definition of impact, fine, you win but realize that makes your rogo even less special, because there are countless players who've done that.
But i think the rest of the sports world would agree excitement doesn't mean a whole.
Championships and Wins do.
And like cop said, I'd start looking ahead and worrying about the '10 season. Post should make a strong title defense.

Impact means wins, without wins there is no impact! Fun/exciting to watch is another story; there, Ws and Ls don't count!!! :whatever:

Impact DOES NOT mean wins. If a player makes a huge difference to his team he has an impact, if he scores six game winning goals he has an impact, if he makes a difference in the final score win or lose he has an impact, if he causes the other team to change it's entire defensive scheme he has an impact.

Last time I checked, Greg Cerar was a huge impact, but when a team learns to just count on one player like post did two years ago, they just couldn't get it all done. Last year was a different story, many offensive weapons and great team defense. As a unit, you make an impact on another team, one player can only get you so far. Granted Cerar scored 4 goals in the National Championship, but team defense really won that game.

I don't believe you read what you wrote. I agree with one part, "If you make a difference int he final score *and* win". ok I agree, however I dont see how scoring 6 goals in a losing effort made any impact. You still lost. Any competitive person will atest, it doesn't if its by 1 point or 20 points.
And at this level, these kids aren't playing because its realllyy reallly fun, they're playing to win.
So I stand by my original position, to be an impact player you need to lead your team to important wins and ultimately playoffs

I don't believe you read what I wrote.....Cerar had 4 goals in the National Championship, that's exactly what your definition of an impact player is, I mean that is what you just said
