Div. II Playoff Teams Should be Changed From 4 to 8

Currently the highest ranked team from each of the three Division II regions plus one at-large team goes to the Div. II playoffs. Consequently, it is possible (likely) that the four best teams are not in the playoffs each year. I would like to see the number of teams selected increased from 4 to 8. And, I would also like to get rid of the regions and have the top 8 teams (regardless of their location) make the playoffs.

Then the zealots will be complaining about how all 8 teams should be from the NE or ECC, because the South teams have inflated win/loss records because of all of the South region teams that they play.

if the south continues to grow the sport and field as many teams as they do and keep adding they deserve more than 1 AQ. Let the AQs follow the number of schools. What makes March Madness so exciting is that the little guys get to play against the big boys. I would never favor a system that excluded all but the Northeast, the sport will never grow.
