PBA teams for mlax and wlax are not entirely new - they currently exist as club teams:

Very true red; I should have been more specific and said that they are new to Division 2 :ugeek:

Religious school with strict guidelines in various aspects of campus life. Good luck in their search

A good link to see what is coming (new programs in all divisions): http://thegrowthblog.blogspot.com/p/new-varsity-college-programs.html

From there:
Southern Wesleyan, Conf. Carolinas, 2018 (hiring coach for 2016-7 to recruit)
Quincy University, GLVC, 2019 (women 2018)

There are also around four more that are adding women only at this time. Perhaps those might be future growth opportunities...

Thank you for the link red :D

SWU (Southern Wesleyan) is only for women's lacrosse correct?

I would love for them to add mens in the next 2-4 years

Any other chatter of mid west to west expansion

Any insight into the resignations at Wingate / Queens? Moving on to greener pastures with new schools? Seems as though Wingate has been improving year by year under Lawson, and Fritz started the program at Queens, they're in the conversation annually... Quite surprised by those two moves, best of luck to both of them.

So which DII coaches would be consensus to apply for and possibly be hired for some of these D1 openings? Who are the up and coming coaches in DII?

My guess would be that the majority of D-1 Coaches are promoted from within D-1 programs, and that both D-2, and D-3 Coaches can and often move within both divisions with ease. So to answer you question, with the obvious exceptions of any of the top 10 programs in D-2, I would have to say there is a very limited supply of available Coaches that would/could make the jump to D-1, however, I'm sure there are some, but for the most part, the question would be why would a top 10 D-2 Coach move up to the D-1 ranks, thus leaving the team he has spent time and effort building. I'm sure there are someother D-2 teams, that would love to see Limestone's own, J.B. Clarke leave, but don't hold your breath for that. :D

Thanks red. Didn't see anything on the Wingate website so it must be hush hush surrounding the circumstances.

Not disagreeing with the hire, actually think its probably an upgrade, but wondering why the consensus is that it is a good hire. Seems like a curious and rushed hire at Queens.

Please explain :confusion-shrug:

We gripe and complain when schools drag their feet in the hiring process these days

Now, we have a school with a ton of support, pretty good facilities and a quality (talent wise) lacrosse program who decided that they found their guy and wanted to move forward so they do not fall behind (especially in recruiting).

I think it's refreshing and besides Kivlen has done a pretty good job at every stop he has been at along the way.

With all the openings this year, maybe they wanted to make him an offer before he got picked up by someone else. I agree with others, great hire for Queens

I have to believe that Coach Fritz knew that he was retiring after this season. So that makes me lean toward the notion that they have had this hire on the "to do" list for some length of time and there was a very short list to go over, if at all.
