SAC 2018

Time to get the SAC page up and going. This conference had 2 participants in the NCAA playoffs, looking to get at least one more in this season......

Newberry is added to the conference as Brevard exits.

I think 1 is a lock. 2 is highly possible. What does Wingate return. They had a great season in 2017

How does Queen's look this year. A little under-wellming last year. Can they climb up this season ?

Wouldn't call Queens season a bust... New coach, young group that did knock there rival LR out of the conference tournament. With another year of growth I can see them doing well again. However, there biggest advantage over everyone in the SAC was there face-off specialist. They will need to replace him, who made up for a lot of holes in there young roster.

Heard LR has a gauntlet schedule this year......

Not throwing darts at Queen's. Just hoping their can get back on their feet soon. The better every team in the SAC is the better I like it. Remember "steel sharpens steel" is the old saying, and it is true.

Agreed Swivel. Success or not in the tournament, its been a huge advantage for queens to host every year. Some other sports, within the SAC, host the tournament at a neutral site each year. I think this would be ideal for the conference.

Does anyone have any Fall Ball scrimmages/information? Teams should be scrimmaging towards the end of September/ Beginning of October.

Mars Hill looks to be coming out of the gate swinging for the fences. Four tough games to start the 2018 season.

Looks like Coach Bouquet and the Catawba Indians are looking to climb in the rankings this season. After finishing 8 - 8 and giving Len.Ryh. a good game in the SAC Tourn. they appear to be beefing up the OOC schedule. Opening with Belmont, Mt.O, Chowan, then Fl.Southern before start their SAC schedule. Not to mention a game vs Limestone mixed in the middle of conference play. I hope the guys are prepping for this with a sense of urgency. It could be a great year for Catawba.

I hope they stay healthy. Their roaster is really short this season for some reason. http://marshilllions.com/sports/mlax/2017-18/roster

Queens w a rough fall, looking at their roster looks like a very small class was brought in. Program seems to continue to slide since the coaching changes. Hopefully it is only fall and they can put it together by spring. Wingate and LR will both be strong this year.

Queens also had several transfers so the total new class was around 16-17

Did they lose some fall ball games? Who all transferred out?

Looks like you are right about a lot of transfers in Milzy. I notice Kevin Barry (Rutgers), David Bryne (Drexel) and Duncan Haight and Justin Metzger (Virginia Wesleyan). I'm sure I am missing a few more.
