So I don't follow D2 very closely but can somebody explain to me how Concordia (CA) beats Denver and gets no votes for #1 yet Denver keeps 4 votes for #1?
They both beat St. Benedict's by about the same. They both beat Utah State (closer game for Concordia). Is the win being discounted because it happened during the mayhem that shall remain nameless of a February weekend?

Good question HurstLax - I was wondering the same. You'd think that beating the defending champs from last year would warrant at least a vote or two? I understand that "the weekend that shall not be named" threw a wrench into the rankings because of a total lack of data on teams who would normally have played half their season by now (I'm looking at you, West Coast!), but the lack of 1st place votes for Concordia, and the fact that UCSD didn't get ranked (despite a 4-goal loss to #2 Concordia and a win over #13 CSUSM) and St Ben's at 0-2 with a big loss to Concordia (and Denver) is a head-scratcher. These things will eventually sort themselves out over time, especially with more data available, but this poll doesn't make sense. Hopefully it will soon.

Next thing you'll tell me that Trump has talked with the Russian Ambassador!!!

I know there will always be perceived conflict of interest but being in charge of the rankings committee just means that you collect the rankings from the 8 voters and tabulate them together. As far as I know, the only time there is actually a discussion where advocating could do anything would be when it comes to seeding and invites to nationals.

I hope it has more to do with voters not being fully informed or taking the time to actually go through all the teams. So then with only 8 voters you will get some bias based on conference affiliation and region of the country.

For any voters reading this ... We know its a thankless job and its an imperfect system, but whenever possible put in the time to look at all the teams and scores. This is made more difficult because of Active hiding away all of the data which the coaches have submitted!! Making it that much harder to compare scores and records and teams. And Thanks for your efforts!
