Johns Hopkins 13, Rutgers 12 (Final)

Two teams on the cusp of being elite, in my opinion. Both teams desperately want this. As a Rutgers fan, the face off match up concerns me. Game should be a lot of fun.

Even though he was around 40% saves I thought Turnbaugh had one of his better games of the season against UVA. The defense gave up way too many shots in close and the outside goals came mainly from the middle of the field where he couldn't cut down the angle and the shooters had time and room. If he can steal a few and faceoffs tilt to Moreland I like the Jays chances.

Looks like Vegas Lines has Hopkins by 1.5 with and O/U of 23.5. There is no coming back down 7 this time. I think the first quarter will tell. If Hop is within 1 or more by the end of the first, they win in a close one...my prediction anyway.

I'm surprised that Vegas or any sports book is interested in college lacrosse, but I guess a confirmed gambler will bet on anything.

As far as I know it's not "Vegas," it's just some guy who calculates spreads for each game himself and then shares it with the lax community for fun. I haven't yet seen a sportsbook where you can actually bet on these games.

Not sure it makes sense to favor Hop given how good Rutgers has been at home this year and the past several years. It strikes me as more of a toss-up.

My guess is Foley on Heningburg and Rexrode on Stanwick will be the premier matchups. Rapine has some experience covering Mullins from last year, if I remember correctly. The Rutgers game was also Owen Colwell's only start of last year in what was probably Hop's best defensive effort of that season (as well as Turnbaugh's), so he should be familiar with the Scarlet Knights. But 2018 is a new year and it's a very different story at High Point Solution Stadium.

Hop has the statistical edge on faceoffs, but Rutgers has won games this year without winning the majority of faceoffs.

The Jays are coming into this one a little banged up, with a starting middie and 1-2 SSDMs questionable for Sunday night.

Um, isn't "Easter Sunday Eve" the day before Easter, like Christmas Eve is the day before Christmas?

About a decade ago, the Wynn used to have lines on college lacrosse games

Not sure if they do now. The lines were the idea of a Hopkins grad that worked in the sports book. He didn't play lacrosse at Hopkins but did play football.

Just don't want anyone to miss it!

Good luck to both teams. Since Petro is a former coach of Cornell, I'll be rooting for the Jays.

Two Long Island coaches, Petro from St. Mary's, Manhasset and Coach Brecht from Sachem. All adds to the rivalry. Coach Brecht I know. Petro I don't but I am friends with his JV high school coach. Should be a great game. Let's see who does a better job refocusing after a holiday weekend.

Too bad this game won't be available even for replay unless you subscribe to BTN. Will there be radio from Rutgers? I don't know much about the Knights except that they are having a good year. Hopkins has improved considerably since the beginning of the season. Hope to follow this one on radio or gametracker. Looks like a pick 'em to me.

Whoever made the decision to attempt that hidden ball trick on the EMO should be ashamed of themselves. Sloppy , unnecessary and results in a goal the other way

Is the coach of Corner Canyon HS in Utah from NJ? Rutgers has three from that school.

Need to pick up the shooting percentage in the second half and we should be done ok. Need to exploit some of the size matchups we have.
