For LadyLaker or others -- it is 7-4 Yale at the end of Q3. Yale playing good man down defense and seems to be gaining even more confidence on the defensive end -- shutting out Loyola and Spencer in a quarter is remarkable. Sole Yale goal in Q3 from Yale's Daniggelis. Goalie Stover of Loyola coming up huge, goalie Starr for Yale doing very well also against fewer shots. Warner for Yale is having a fantastic game at ssdm.

Still 7-4 Yale, 6:40 to play. Right now the Yale defense playing next level aggressive D -- like they played vs. Albany. Stover for Loyola has over 15 saves has kept Loyola in it. Yale is getting some in close looks but not throwing a fake at the goalie and Stover is locked in right now. Yale has possession now after a Loyola turnover on the clear. Announcers talking about how the wet bulldog smells.

Yale giving Loyola an opening by getting shot clock and taking horrible low percentage shot. (Edited) Loyola scores on the next possession now 4:15 to play Yale up 7-5.

2:38 to play, Yale playing for the shot clock and taking bad shots but gets bailed out by a debatable (cough cough) push call on man in the crease. Yale with EMO 30 seconds.

1:40 Yale up by two, good time-out by Andy Shay with ball in the corner on offense after the EMO. Yale with possession but have not shot well this half -- Loyola good defense, playing Reeves very tough and other guys not converting right now. Yale's goalie Starr might have had his best save in his career at about 2:30 on a fast break.

1:29 Big BEN REEVES! Beats the double-team, 8-5. Loyola wins face-off and now has an EMO 30 seconds. 1:11 to play.

41 seconds looks like the Elis will be playing on Memorial Day. Yale gets the clear, Shay calls a time-out, Yale up 8-5 with possession in the offensive zone. Loyola EMO futility today a big story (much like it was for Yale in their tournament loss last year).

So happy for Jack Starr -- that save of his inside four minutes is a "career highlights" kind of save. Amazing resilience.

I voted after the game as many more voted for a Loyola win on what was predicted to be a close game. It was. Great job by both goalies but Loyola's kept them in the game. Just wanted to close the spread. :D

I thought Loyola would win this one but Yale played really well. Congrats to Yale and to their program for taking the next step.

Congrats to Yale on a hard fought and well-played game!

Overall I was proud of how the Hounds defense, inlcuding Huggins and Stover did against Yale's fine stable of players. But for the most part Yale kept us off our game. Not a whole lot else our Hounds could have done. Tip of the hat to Yale on just outplaying us.

As a Loyola fan, and someone who has watched our team all tear, Yales' game plan was fantastic. They honed in on our achilled heel (faceoffs) and exploited it early and often to make it a long day for us. By winning faceoffs and dominating posessions it made us tired on clears and impatient on offense. Impressed how Yale put Loyola's players in positions they didnt want to be in (i.e: Huggins playing Reeves inside).

Great game and great luck moving forward! Will be cheering for you guys to win it all this year!
