RANK TEAM STATE WINS LOSSES TIES PCT.
1 Moorestown NJ 207 9 0 0.958
2 St. Stephen's-St. Agnes VA 176 9 0 0.951
3 Westwood MA 196 9 3 0.950
4 West Genesse NY 185 12 0 0.939

It would appear that Moorestown, SSSA, and Westwood are in the hunt for #1 ...

Shouldn't the Team of the Decade have enjoyed a little national success? Agree SSA and Moorestown are there along with West Genesee and Hebron and others not mentioned in that list. Winning percentage means little if you don't play anyone.Eden Prairie, Minnesota??? One of the top ten high school teams of the decade??? In 2005, 16-0 Eden Prairie is ranked 662nd in the nation by Laxpower ( ... they moved up -- Phoenix-like -- to 121st this year) and you have Eden Prairie at number 6 ... relative?
What is the math behind the "PCT" numbers indicated above?
HINT: There is more to it than a simple win/loss percentage.
JW21 wrote:I was only ranking teams on win-loss records. I was not saying that one program was ahead of another in any other way. I thought that would be clear since they are listed in order by winning percentage, even though somehow I lost the nice formatting I had when I pasted those numbers in. I simply thought it was interesting to see those records from the past nine seasons. Judging the best team of the decade would surely be subjective, and I doubt anyone on this board would say that a team from Minnesota could accumulate those stats if they had to play teams from Baltimore, Philly, or Long Island on a regular basis.

Yes, that is true ( ... Total Number of Games Won divided by Total Number of Games Played). I was hoping to get that information directly from the author just to make sure that they had not somehow added in power rating (etc.) and then had somehow managed to negate the addition.
As indicated in my post above, I am trying to figure out how a team like Stephen Decatur did not make the list. They would have ended up at about #5 if all that was done was to divide the Total Number of Games Won by the Total Number of Games Played.
